This is a full-time, day position (40 hours/week).Job Requirements:Perform clinical review of all physician orders and make necessary interventions prior to dispensing medications.
Licensed registered pharmacists oversee all aspects of medication usage, including drug distribution, drug procurement and storage, sterile product preparation and drug therapy monitoring.
Reviews physician orders to assure accuracy and appropriateness of treatment, intervenes with prescriber and documents interventions as required.
Follows through and documents all orders requiring clarification and/or alteration in a responsible and accountable manner in accordance with the highest professional standards, formulary compliance and hospital policy.
Supervises the work of pharmacy technicians.
Stays up to date with departmental information, Net Learning assignments, staff meetings, and policy changes, by attending meetings, reading posted communications, e-mail, and other methods of communication.
Education/Training/Certification/Licensure:Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, PharmD
Current NJ State Pharmacy License with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs
NJ licensed pharmacist with hospital experience preferred
