Full-Charge Bookkeeper/Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper, to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices within our organization. Required to apply: An accounting degree with 5+ years in accounting and/or bookkeeping using QuickBooks.

This is a Monday to Friday 9-5pm in-office position 4-5 days a week in Morris County. NOT REMOTE.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks for various buildings and/or companies

Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation

Conduct bank reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable

Efficiently monitor and analyze cash flow

Prepare detailed financial reports from QuickBooks

Process payroll for a small staff and handle tax-related documentation in compliance with applicable regulations

Ensure all bookkeeping activities adhere to GAAP standards and best practices in technical accounting

Support budgeting activities by analyzing financial data and assisting in budget preparation

Maintain accurate records of debits & credits, double-entry bookkeeping, and journal entries

Assist with governmental accounting requirements as needed

Experience /Requirements

An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred or a relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper (CB) or Certified Public Bookkeeper

Proven experience (5+ years) in a bookkeeping or accounting role using QuickBooks, with a full-charge capacity preferred, being able to produce financial reports, maintain organized records and understand tax returns.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel is required

Strong experience with bank reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis

Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and reporting

Deep organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Accountable, reliable, with strong work ethics, integrity and discretion

Excellent written and verbal communication skills and problem-solving abilities

Real Estate accounting experience is a plus
