Mechanical Design Engineer – Machinery
BSME [or equivalent] with AutoCAD and machine design 3D modeling, Inventor experience to design web processing machinery and integrated systems for a wide range of industries throughout the world.
Requirements:
3 – 5 years’ experience in mechanical design
Knowledge of electro/mechanical system utilizing AutoCAD and Inventor (or similar 3D modeling)
Must understand mechanics and be familiar with common mechanical parts (bearings, chains, belts, pneumatics, hydraulics)
Experience in motion control design including belt drives, ball screws, stepper motors, and AC servo motors
Excellent written and oral skills
Understand or research applicable regulatory and code requirements, US and abroad, to ensure design compliance
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects effectively
Ability to work in a team environment
Excellent math skills and ability to research available technologies to solve specific technical challenges
Principle Duties:
Using existing ME standards and design tools create detail and assembly drawings under general supervision
Work with electrical & mechanical engineer to ensure integrated electromechanical machinery
Work with procurement for component selection and fabrication requirements
Generate BOM’s for manufactured, purchased, electrical and pneumatic components
Support purchasing in procurement of new components
Support manufacturing during assembly and start up
Meet with appropriate vendors as required
Support sales through application engineering input
