At Efi’s Gyro & Cafe in Newport, Jersey City, food prep duties are all about ensuring everything is fresh and ready for service. Daily tasks include chopping vegetables like tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and peppers for our salads and gyros, preparing rice and other side dishes, and portioning ingredients to maintain efficiency during busy hours.
We also focus on managing inventory—checking deliveries, rotating stock, and ensuring all ingredients are fresh and properly stored. Keeping the prep area clean and organized, as well as maintaining kitchen equipment, is a key part of the process to ensure everything runs smoothly.
