Vanillamore's mission is to create an immersive sensorial experience. Vanillamore puts sweets at the center of the menu, with healthy, seasonal savory offerings to complement. We are a restaurant where foodies, families and friends can experience exceptional service, an open kitchen, and a virtual art gallery in an immersive, approachable way. We strive to create menu items that have more to explore: more flavors, textures, colors, and creativity. Vanillamore is a 42 seat restaurant located in Montclair, NJ.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, passionate and responsible full-time line cook to work in an energetic, fast-paced and positive environment working to create a one of a kind experience in an open kitchen.

We are looking for someone who:

Has a passion and respect for ingredients, both sweet and savory

Is creative, detail-oriented and dedicated to learning and growing

Has a positive, ambitious attitude and is self-motivated

Is able to work effectively as part of a team

Has a strong sense of urgency

Has a strong knowledge of cooking and pastry techniques

Can maintain a clean, efficient and organized kitchen

Has excellent customer service skills

Has at least 1 year of experience in a professional kitchen, culinary school attendance preferred

Has a ServSafe Food Handler certificate, or is willing to obtain one within 30 days of employment

Can lift 50#

Responsibilities:

Prepare sweet & savory menu items in accordance with existing recipes and menus

Plate menu items during service

Maintain consistency and timeliness in all production and plating

Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and exceed DOH specifications

Ensure kitchen equipment is used properly and in good working condition

Be involved in daily pre-service instruction

Coordinate and communicate with FOH staff

Interact with customers - be hospitable and welcoming to guests

Must have the ability to clearly explain the concept of Vanillamore to current and potential customers

Be a part of special events, classes and off-site promotion

Compensation:

Full-Time or Part-Time positions available

25-40 hours per week

Hourly, based on experience
