Summary
The Warehouse Assistant Manager supports the Warehouse Manager in overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of the warehouse. This role is critical in ensuring efficient workflow, accurate inventory management, and a safe, productive work environment, often stepping in to manage the facility in the manager's absence.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in supervising, training, and scheduling warehouse staff to maximize productivity and maintain high morale.
Coordinate daily activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods.
Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Enforce all company and regulatory safety standards (e.g., OSHA, forklift operations) to maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace.
Help analyze performance data and recommend improvements to operational procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
Proven experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a supervisory role.
Forklift and OSHA training and certifications, a plus.
Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with inventory control and WMS software.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
