Description Our client is a growing brokerage/financial services company located in Florham Park, NJ. They are seeking a Sr. Accountant who will report directly into the founder of the company and will be responsible for all of the day to day accounting responsibilities of the firm. Some specific responsibilities will include:Leading the weekly/monthly accounting closesMonthly closings and general ledger maintenanceDaily P& L statementsBalance sheet analysisBank reconciliationsPayroll processing and administrationCommission reportsAccounts payable and accounts receivableB.S. in Accounting6+ years of related accounting and financial reporting experience Experience within the financial services and brokerage industry highly preferredKnowledge of QuickBooks a huge plusCompany offers very competitive salary, generous annual bonus potential and excellent overall benefits packageRequirements - Knowledgeable of ERP systemsCommitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Strong time management skills preferred
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel
