Position Summary

Global Wealth and Investment Management (GWIM) Trading Technology is looking for an experienced DevOps manager to lead a team of engineers whose mission is to provide resilient and reliable trading services for GWIM. As a leader of this team, the candidate will be accountable for the CI/CD automation and rollout strategy, infrastructure management, deployments and change management of 30+ trading applications. In this role, the candidate will ensure adherence to the GWIM change management best practices and be a change agent for process and controls improvement. This is a growth opportunity for someone interested in developing their career in trading systems with the ability to bring market leading practices in DevOps. The candidate must be passionate about innovation and automation.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • The candidate will partner with Technology, Business and Operations executives in the day to day planning and execution.
  • Maintain the infrastructure health of the trading system that has direct customer impact.
  • Doing change right the first time: Develop a culture of accuracy and completeness in the change management process and ensure zero defect releases in production and lower environments. Evolve operational processes that provide strong monitoring and management of the trading infrastructure.
  • Champion best practices related to infrastructure and change management. Ensure full compliance to all infrastructure mandates and guidelines. This will require maintaining an evolving roadmap for system upgrades, enhancements, retirements, etc.
  • Effective release and change management: By automation with the CI/CD tools, create a cost efficient DevOps model. Be a change agent for increasing developer agility.
  • An active participant in the architecture, design and development of new capabilities.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to manage people with an intense focus on their career and leadership development.
  • Building and fostering relationships across the breadth and depth of the enterprise.
  • Strong planning and project management skills in clearly defining scope, managing and resolution of issues, and monitoring progress.
  • Strong analytical, financial management and organizational skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to decompose complex issues and drive timely decisions, knowing when to engage others for additional input and when to act independently
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills and executive presence

Desired Skills

  • Trading systems experience
  • Experience managing teams in other locations, including offshore
  • Knowledge of Kafka, Single Store (formerly MemSql) and Cassandra DB would be counted as a plus.
