  • The overall purpose of this position is to ensure the development, strategic positioning, deployment, and maximum impact of humanitarian activities/public imperative programs at Client. The incumbent in the role will be accountable for the following outcomes:
  • Strategic planning and execution of Client humanitarian activities, in support of the Client Humanitarian Activities Committee (HAC), a Committee of Client. HAC has an annual budget of approximately $1M.
  • Review and evaluation of the overall effectiveness of programs and recommending best practices as they relate to programs and projects.
  • Increased relationships with industry, government, academia, and NGOs related to humanitarian efforts, through nurturing, maintaining, and sustaining outreach, engagement and ongoing relationships.
  • An engaged and proactive internal culture where organizational unit volunteers and staff work together transparently and seamlessly to achieve the outcome(s) desired from implementation of new opportunities for humanitarian efforts.
  • This role reports to the Senior Director, Strategic Research and Public Imperatives/Corporate Development, and manages a team of approximately 3-5 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Humanitarian Activities and Public Imperative Program Management
  • Directs and manages humanitarian activities and public imperative programs
  • Serves as staff lead for the Humanitarian Activities Committee of the Client Board of Directors, managing budget and deliverables, including metrics on humanitarian activity performance
  • Serves as key staff point of contact both internally and externally, across Client OUs and with volunteers, members, staff, and external organizations to build strong partnerships (both internal and external) and increase the visibility, reach, and effectiveness of the Board's programmatic vision for Client humanitarian activities and public imperatives
  • Review and evaluate the overall effectiveness of programs and recommend best practices as they relate to programs and projects
  • Internal Stakeholder engagement
  • Partners and supports Client's non-US offices as necessary
  • Leads, supervises, supports, and encourages the professional development of employees
  • Personnel Management
  • Manages direct and indirect reports.
  • Works directly with each employee related to career development and performance appraisals.
  • Fosters high employee engagement.
  • Special Initiatives
  • Leads special projects at the request of the Staff Executive, Corporate Activities and Senior Director, Strategic Research and Public Imperatives/Corporate Development.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferably in Engineering, Business, Marketing or International Relations Req
  • Master's or other advanced degree Preferred

Work Experience
  • 10-15 years business and/or corporate development experience with a proven track record in the planning, development, incubation, and deployment of strategic programs Req
