Do it here.What you’ll be doingAs a part of the VZ Platform Engineering Team, the candidate will be responsible for design, implementation, support & Administration of GCPinfrastructure. You will support, implement, and maintain GCP infrastructure in Verizon and will be responsible for running GCP cluster(s). This position is part of our AI&D organization which focuses on delivering the power of data and AI to drive our marketplace leadership through innovative solutions that create value for our customers, shareholders, V teamers and society, responsibly. Design, implement, support and administration of Dataproc infrastructure initiatives.
Design and implement production scale GCP VM clusters, GCP IAM process
GCP Dataproc based projects to resolve the critical and complex technical issu
Support Linux users, setting up Kerberos principles, and managing HDFS, Hive, Pig, Spark, and MapReduce access for the new users
Work with data delivery teams to setup new Hadoop users
Work on LDW eco-system (Ranger, Nifi, Kafka, Atlas, Hive, Storm, pig, spark, Elastic Search, Splunk, Solr, Kyvos, Hbase, etc., and other cloud data tools)
Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines). Knowledge of Ansible, Jenkins, Jira, Artifactory, Git, etc.
What we’re looking forYou’ll need to have: Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant experience
Experience with Google Cloud Platform
Experience in creating and managing production scale Kubernetes clusters, knowledge of Kubernetes networking.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
A degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred
Expert in implementing and troubleshooting Hive, Spark, Pig, Storm, Kafka, Nifi, Atlas, Kyvos, Elastic Search, Solr, Splunk, HBase applications
General operational expertise such as good troubleshooting skills, understanding of system’s
Able to deploy Kubernetes cluster and perform application deployments on Kubernetes cluster, monitor critical parts of the cluster, configure high availability, schedule and configure it and take backups
Familiarity with open source configuration management and deployment tools such as Puppet or Chef and Linux scripting.
Expert in Hadoop administration with knowledge of Hortonworks/Cloudera or Map Bigdata management tools.
