CYBER SECURITY LOG ENGINEER

For a 12 MONTH assignment with possible extensions! Could go Direct Hire Location: Princeton, New Jersey Position is 100% ONSITE

Leverage your CYBER SECURITY and LINUX expertise to help take your career with our Client to the "Next Level" for 2022 and beyond! Our Client is seeking a Cybersecurity Log Engineer that is detail-oriented, and ahead of hackers and cyber criminals. As our Log Engineer, you'll be in charge of ensuring our Cybersecurity enterprise logging environment, software, and hardware are secured and protected from cyber-attacks and are operating efficiently. You'll need to be up to date on the latest logging methodologies, be meticulous in your problem solving, and at times, work well under pressure. You'll also need to have exceptional IT capabilities and be able to help guide the company through a cyber-attack, if necessary.

Responsibilities: 1. Effectively respond to all incidents related to the logging environments/infrastructure. 2. Work with packaging and deployment teams to install new agents on all targeted endpoints. 4. Assist with planning, implementation, and maintenance of an enterprise-wide deployment of NXLog. Not limited to the following: a. Manages user accounts; assures defined user authentication procedures are strictly followed for new account creations, and account terminations. Performs routine user account auditing. b. Monitors and maintains NXLog environment, including NXLog Manager, templates and custom logging configurations 5. Work with cross-functional teams to drive technology initiatives and business outcomes. 6. Promotes best practices, designs, and standards through knowledge sharing. Requirements: • Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in an enterprise environment • Experience with logging software such as NXLog, RSyslog, Syslog-NG or other logging software and knowledge of SIEM technologies • Experience interacting with REST APIs for Cybersecurity tool access/development • Excellent verbal and written communications skills • Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and prioritize efforts • Ability to collaborate in a team environment • Must have solid hands-on Linux experience with RedHat Enterprise Server

Required Education • Bachelor's degree (not required) or equivalent experience
