Job Description:

Position Summary: Business Relationship Management is focused on achieving business outcomes through strengthened collaboration between IT and FCE leadership. The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as a single point of focus within IT representing business needs and strategic direction of assigned Functional Centers of Excellence (FCE). The role advises the FCE on technology and capabilities provided by the Technology Division to meet their strategic needs and business outcomes. The BRM is accountable and responsible for the relationship with assigned Functional Centers of Excellence (FCE) and the Technology Division. The role is responsible for a portfolio of projects and technology solutions to ensure business needs are met and services/solutions are delivered effectively and within approved budgets. The role is responsible for managing the technology lifecycle and strategy for technology solutions within assigned area. The BRM will be well informed of and understand technology trends within the assigned FCE to inform strategy.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and understand IT's interactions with FCE(s) with the goal of improving relationships between organizations and strengthening business' perceptions of the value that IT is providing. Become a trusted partner/advisor.
  • Develop effective relationships with business teams on all levels and become a trusted partner/advisor through dependable delivery and business contributions (e.g. delivering options)
  • Represent IT with a focus on technology enablement of business strategy and process
  • Effectively manage demand into IT by utilizing established processes
  • Pursue cost effective and innovative solutions to meet desired business outcomes
  • Lead project teams in steering solution design, development, test and implement activities to meet the needs of the business and add value in leadership governance bodies
  • Accountable for IT delivery to FCE(s). Escalation point for business unit for IT delivery
  • Work with FCE(s) to incorporate risk and compliance needs
  • Manage IT projects to meet agreed upon schedule, scope and budget, including issues and risks. Ensure deviations from plans are brought to the early attention of appropriate areas and stakeholders, and that corrective action is taken.
  • Interact with the appropriate senior level contacts to understand requirements and identify service features to enable the planning of future service enhancements
  • Continually seek new opportunities to drive technology innovation and growth in the business
  • Work with FCE(s) to define, or update, service level agreements in support of business operations.
  • Maintain respective key performance indicators (KPI) metrics
  • Represent the FCE(s) interests during Major Incident Reviews to identify opportunities for Service Level improvements and determining RCAs to reduce repeat incidents
  • Represent the FCE(s) interests in Change review meetings during assessment and impact analysis of RFCs and engage in approval/denial decisions
  • Represent the FCE(s) interests in Technology Strategy and Architecture discussions
  • Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function
  • Determine features/requirements/needs and translate into roadmaps, including potential new projects
  • Develop effective relationships with service providers (as assigned). Manage third-party supplier relationships and performance to meet performance measures

Experience and Skills

Education, Certifications, and Special Licenses:
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Processing or business-related curricula, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary

Relevant Years of Experience:
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of IT experience in building successful strategic partnerships and delivering technology solutions to achieve business outcomes. Demonstrated success in technology project management

Other Requirements:
  • Proven leadership skills and ability influence across the organization
  • Account management experience is preferred
  • Excellent planning, organization and problem identification and resolution skills
  • Highly motivated, demonstrating a positive, can-do attitude
  • Prior experience managing large technology projects or initiatives.
  • Highly skilled and experienced at negotiating conflict and problem-solving to achieve win-win outcomes at executive levels
  • Exceptional ability to lead change using positive and collaborative methods
  • Strategic management perspective, knowledge of business and IT trends, and negotiating skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to forge and build relationships
  • Must be able to multi-task across various different situations and activities
  • Displays good judgment and professionalism and listening skills
  • Proven ability to define business needs
  • Learning agility
  • End-to-end ETS understanding
  • Market insight and service orientation
