Job Description:
Position Summary: The Automation Engineer is a member of an IT Service Delivery Team and provides a wide variety of automation functions. The Automation Engineer brings expertise in the implementation of automation to support the development, testing, and release of software. The Automation Engineer works closely with their team or teams to understand their automation requirements, defines those processes, and implements the automation in the automation tool(s). Responsibilities:- Install, configure, support and maintain automation tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Maven, sonarqube, Liquibase, Ansible, XL Deploy, etc.)
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as code using Orchestration and configuration management tools like AWS Cloud Formation, Ansible, etc
- Implement and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery using tools like Jenkins, Maven, GIT, Artifactory, Liquibase, XL Deploy, etc
- Implement and maintain Test Automation using tools like Selenium or SAHI
- Identify and propose solutions to improve the DevOps Pipeline / Automation
- Setup, configure, and maintain the service delivery team's automation pipeline based on ETS standards
- Scirpt using Phyton, Unix Shell or Powershell to implement and improve automation pipeline
- Work closely with application teams in an agile development environment to deliver with quality
- Actively involved in developing load testing framework and running performance tests.
- Track and report on the quality of the implemented automation.
- Contribute and collaborate to design, document, and publish automation standards, principles, guidelines and best practices.
- Seek opportunities to increase the business value of the DevOps tool chain through research and investigation, application team input, automation options, POCs, etc.
- Adhere to ethical standards and comply with the laws and regulations applicable to your job function
- A bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science or Information Technology.
- Experience with programming with a modern programming language or an automation tool.
- Professional/technical certifications are highly desirable, such as AWS Associate certifications.
- 3 to 5 years of experience programming in a modern programming language.
- 3 to 5 years of experience scripting with an automation tool/platform.
- Solid understanding of Agile IT development methodology
- Solid understanding of Cloud technologies
- Solid experience of software testing approaches and methodologies
- Solid experience with DevOps and Automation tools such as Jenkins, Selenium, Sahi, Artifactory, Maven, Liquibase, Ansible, XL Deploy, Cloud Formation Template, etc.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills and attention to details.
- Good understanding of ETS processes and organization structures.
