Our client, a global provider of information technology products and services, is seeking an Application Software Developer III

Location: Princeton, NJ

Position Type: Contract

Position Summary:

The Global Higher Ed's Product team is seeking a creative and innovative Software Developer to join their Development team. The candidate will join a scrum team of Developers, UI/UX, product owners following agile frameworks.

The software developer candidate will (a) lead the End to end development of features which include front end development, integration with the backend, integrating with 3rd party vendors (like Stripe, Zoho, GA) (b) serve as a technical lead for POC, research capabilities and should be able to bring in viable solutions and implementation strategies (c) collaborate with both internal and external colleagues to ensure on-time completion of sprints.

Under general direction, the developer will propose creative and strategic solutions for new services and functionality. The developer will also be engaged in testing and documentation through the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Technical Responsibilities:

  • Very Strong experience in Java Script, HTML, CSS, Angular (Other Front-end Technologies)
  • Should be able to write complex JavaScript and or create the necessary functions to fill in gaps
  • Experience in developing for responsive screens using bootstrap
  • Should be able to identify and narrow down performance issues on Web Pages
  • Should be familiar will app development on Rubyframe works.
  • Should be able to integrate the code with Slim Templates
  • Strong knowledge of SQL - using Post Gres
  • Excellent knowledge using source control like Git
  • Application development is on Heroku platforms.
  • Experience with Dev Ops- working with Enterprise cloud and Engineering teams
  • Document the implementation, technical docs, API specification documents, Flow documents, Unit and System testing
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence

Team Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members, help when needed.
  • Have an ownership attitude along with being a team player.
  • Provide peer leadership and collaborate with Leads, team members and other development team members
  • Additional qualifications:
  • Experience with Content Management Systems is a plus
  • Experience writing insert scripts for Google Analytics
  • Experience with AWS services (Lambda, RDS, DMS, S3 and other AWS services
  • Promote policies that foster quality standards and industry best practice

Education, Certification or Special Licenses:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related fields
  • May also possess a combination of education and relevant work experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be drawn.

Relevant Years of Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible software engineering/development experience
