- Proactively look for and strategize ways to improve web processes, capabilities, and the overall user experience
- Oversee and lead the Web process from start to finish, the web project pipeline, and production from sprint to go-live
- Regular communication and daily management on key accounts and with clientele (managing expectations, clear communications, updates, and occasional contribution in business pitches with the Executive Team)
- Develop strategic recommendations based on business goals, performance data, and other key insights for the continuous improvement of all managed sites and the best possible user experience
- Apply knowledge of applications programming phases and principles as well as an understanding of how technology decisions relate to business needs
- Build proofs-of-concept and functional prototypes
- Translate mockups into front-end code
- Maintain existing sites/applications including bug fixes, content updates, SEO optimization, and feature enhancements
- Troubleshoot front-end coding and browser compatibility issues
- Troubleshoot back-end and 3rd party integration issues
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility through thorough QA testing
- Create design and asset libraries and digital style guides
- Remain current on all topics related to web and user experience design and development
- Manage multiple projects, prioritize own workload, and work independently when required
- Other duties as assigned or required
- Experience with communicating with and managing clients
- Writing both hand-coded and framework-assisted JQuery, JavaScript, CSS/CSS3, PHP, and HTML/HTML5
- Responsive mobile development: either Bootstrap or Foundation CSS
- Experience with WordPress Web Development (experience with WordPress Codex and issues with theme development / best practices)
- Experience with 3rd party integrations via XML and JSON
- Experience building responsive sites and flexible, reusable modules
- Strong competency with UX and web design tools including Figma, Adobe XD, Photoshop, etc.
- Experience using web measurement and optimization tools including Google Analytics and HotJar
- Knowledge of SEO tactics and best practices
- Ability to learn new things quickly and proactively take the initiative
- Quick problem solver and debugging ability
- A talent for clear and friendly communication
- A strong eye for detail and a taste for aesthetics
- Degree from an accredited 4-year college or university – or degree, certificate, or program completion at a technical institute
- Experience building custom WordPress themes
- Experience building custom WordPress plugins
- Experience building PHP / MySQL sites
- Experience building apps and prototypes
- Experience with web troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Experience with or understanding of web servers
