Your Impact

We're seeking innovators - Software Engineers who seek to design new products, designing state-of-the-art products that do not exist today. These Engineers love to code with a drive to build global products and bring new ideas to develop security disciplines to solve real-world problems. We are looking for leaders who take ownership of their areas of focus and who are driven to pursue problems at every level. Collaboration is at the heart of our culture and we need engineers who can communicate at a high level and work well with multi-functional teams towards achieving a common goal.

As a key member of our New Initiative Group, you will be responsible for designing and developing device software. You will work with Product Management on user requirements, apply your knowledge to functional design, utilize your programming skills for efficient and robust implementation, and interact with quality assurance and field support teams throughout the entire software development cycle.

As a Senior Principal Software Engineer (Device Software) you will:

  • Innovate, design, and develop the platform software stack: from low-level interfaces to hardware and operating system, to system middleware and services, to on-device applications that power our products

  • Contribute in all phases of the product development cycle, from definition, design, through implementation and test

  • Develop robust software to address constantly evolving challenges, with a high focus on quality and execution

  • Develop functional specifications, assess task requirements and scheduling, and contribute to development, debugging and support

  • Identify and drive improvements in existing software and development process

  • Clearly communicate goals and desired outcomes to internal project teams

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • B.S. degree in Computer Science, similar technical discipline or equivalent practical experience; Graduate degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) in Computer Science or similar technical discipline is preferred

  • Have developed, integrated and delivered product features or system components onIoT devices, or complex systems

  • Hands-on experience in developing maintainable, scalable, and reusable software

  • Good understanding of fundamentals (e.g. hardware architecture, operating system, networking, security) of modern computing systems and their limitations

  • Proficient in C/C or other modern systems programming languages (e.g. Rust, Go)

  • Team player with a collaborative mindset, a quality-driven focus and a can-do attitude

  • Solid verbal and written communication skills to work with multi-functional groups

Additional Information

The Team

We currently have numerous areas of focus within the New Initiatives team, with multiple Principal Software Engineer and Senior Staff Software Engineering opportunities. Skills required in addition to skills noted above:

System Software

  • Expertise on multi-threading programming, IPC and memory management on Linux

  • Excellent TCP/IP networking and Linux network stack knowledge

  • Experience with remote device management preferable

Platform Software

  • Experience with secure boot and boot loaders

  • Experience with Linux driver development, WiFi driver preferable

  • Great knowledge of Linux Kernel Internals

Salary disclosure required by sb19-085 for positions located in the state of Colorado: If hired in Colorado, this position starts at a salary of $173,500/yr. Sales roles are also eligible for incentive pay targeted at up to 100% of the offered base salary. Restricted stock units and bonus pay may also be offered as part of this compensation package, as well as benefits that include: flexible paid time off, employee stock purchase program, medical, dental, vision, 401K, life, and disability insurance.
