What You Will Do
- Understand the business needs of the customer and provide quality customer support by using appropriate communication, anticipating customer needs and/or issues, and understanding the broad impact of change on all customer processes.
- Provides appropriate solutions and proactively suggest process improvements.
- Establish IT Project delivery policies and processes and ensures implementation and adherence to policies
- Establish, refine and manage internal processes and metrics to support project completion including successful software development, model development and technically related business projects
- Provide leadership to staff in the support of the corporate vision, department objectives and individual goals
- Give direction to Technical managers and work to remove barriers and silos to accomplishing the success and implementation of projects on cross-functional teams
- Interact with and influence client executive level management, negotiate project deadlines and ensure available resources
- Plan, direct, and coordinate multiple Information Technology projects to ensure that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frames
- Ensure project goals and requirements are met on schedule, within budget and are successfully completed
- Oversee all phases of project execution including initiation, planning/development, production/execution, monitors/controls, closing/post release activities for larger projects
- Build and maintain good working relationships within the Information Technology team and other departments involved in projects
- Facilitate regular project status meetings to assess progress versus milestones, and identify areas of potential concern in adequate time in order to mitigate risk
- Track projects and issues closely, foster collaboration from both the business and technology groups and leads issue resolution meetings during projects
- Ensure GalaxE best practices and GalaxE CMMI practices are being used across all projects in a manner that applies and conforms to account specific practices as directed
- Accountable for final approval on releases for all projects within their assigned accounts, ensuring that nothing is missed and reducing reliability tickets
- Approve all technical resources joining the account's technical organization prior to submitting for final approval to VP of Architecture and Technology
- Approve all WBS prior to submitting for final approval
- Conduct yearly performance reviews of staff reporting in to the account's technical group
- 15+ years of experience in the software development field, with PBM experience a strong plus
- 10+ years of experience directly leading software projects
- 8+ years of direct people management
- Complex working knowledge of systems and software development concepts, practices and procedures;
- Complex working knowledge of project management concepts, practices and procedures;
- Ability to provide leadership, oversight, and support to technical leadership within their assigned accounts
- Ability to plan, schedule and execute multiple concurrent activities
- Possess complex presentation and negotiation skills with the ability to lead meetings professionally and effectively
- Provide technical and architecture oversight
- Clear use of the English language in written and oral communications and the ability to interpret and communicate technical information to non-technical personnel and vice versa
- Ability to act with diplomacy in resolving conflict, consulting, and in acting as an agent in charge
- Proficiency in pertinent tools and software necessary for the position
- Proficient in following technologies: COBOL, CICS, VSAM, DB2, JCLs, DCLGENs, BMS, PROCs
- Proficient in following tools: CA7, ENDEAVOR, RUMBA, MS OFFICE (Word, Excel, PPT, Visio, and Project Plan)
- Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university, or equivalent combination of education and job related experience
