Trigyn is seeking an EDC (Enterprise Data Center) Operations Manager for contract position with its direct financial services client in Somerset, New Jersey.
Description:The consultant will be responsible for the overall management and operations of the Data Center build outs, oversight of the Mechanical & Electrical infrastructure, the rack and stack activities, and the support of the entire IT asset lifecycle are the primary objectives of this role. Capacity management, change management, and incident management are all key requirements. Strong relationship building skills are required to interface with multiple colocation landlords.The main focus of this role is mechanical / electrical operations and project management. Application experience and project management is not required. Role Responsibilities: Must be available on a 24 x 7 basis for MEP and IT infrastructure emergencies. Manage the team that will carry out moves, adds, and changes (MAC) which includes obtaining requirements from IT silos on MAC work (such as power, space, physical connectivity, etc.), centralize all installation requests. Provide a wide range of services from handling deliveries, assigning rack locations, taking the lead to review with power, cooling and cabling on installation, carry out network/fiber patching, physical rack/stack equipment, inventory management (labels, bar-codes), configure management console or iLo ports, rack diagram updates. Provide MEP and IT construction oversight and project management for EDC as needed Provide operational review of engineering, testing, and commissioning documentation to ensure a smooth transition to the operations team. Oversee / manage the Facilities Management team in the operation and fit out of the Facility and MEP infrastructure supporting the data center.Documentation Management: Obtain and collect all data necessary for management/operation reporting, including capacity management, forecasts, vendor coordination, patching, tape management and available resources. Co-ordinate with IT Business Management to update Asset records. Data Center Power-down & Annual Maintenance Management. Coordination with different vendors and all IT silos for power down or scheduled maintenance events.Qualifications:Skills Required: Minimum ten (10) years professional experience or a Bachelors Degree in a related discipline Experience in all aspects of IT/Cabling/Networks/MEP/Engineering project management (comm. Rooms, data centers, trading floors, MEP and technology spaces) Data center construction and commissioning Data center operational risk analysis Excellent performance record in managing contractors (either internal or external) Strong management and leadership skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Experience in the finance industry and a corporate environment is helpful Skills Desired: Financial company operational background is a plus. Good understanding of data center mechanical and electrical infrastructure and its resiliency design (UPS, Generator, CRAC, cabling, containment routes, etc.) is a plus.
