Our client, a large beverage distribution firm, is looking for a Windows System Administrator for a full-time employee position with their firm. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Sys Admin and self-starter who enjoys working in a dynamic organization.

Company offers an excellent benefits package and a work from home/onsite (hybrid) working environment. Must be able to drive to Union, New Jersey.

All candidates must be able to come on board as full time employees with no need of sponsorship.

Job BackgroundReporting directly to the Director of IT, the System Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of the company computer systems and servers. The ideal candidate is someone who has worked as a windows system administrator for a small to midsize company supporting 10 – 30 servers and 50 – 150 employees.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Configure new IT hardware including servers and networking equipment.
  • Manage and monitor internal assets to ensure accurate inventory records.
  • Proactively monitor the reliability, usage, and performance of network and server infrastructure to ensure security and availability to users; analyze and resolve issues.
  • Ensure all systems are patched according to policy.
  • Manage backup infrastructure.
    • Make sure all systems are being backed up as necessary.
    • Monitor backups to ensure they are meeting RPO/RTO goals.
    • Test backups according to policy to ensure viability.
  • Manage disaster recovery site.
    • Make sure all systems are being replicated as necessary.
    • Monitor replication to ensure it is meeting RPO/RTO goals.
    • Test DR site failover according to policy to ensure viability.
  • Manage On premises Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Office 365 suite
  • Respond to the needs and questions of network users concerning their access to resources on the network.
  • Provide level 2 support to users as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of system administration experience
  • Strong experience with setting up and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls and SANS. Palo Alto experience is a plus.
  • Strong experience maintaining server environment including Windows Server & VMware ESXi.
  • Experience with performing backup and disaster recovery system recovery procedures.
  • Ability to prioritize and schedule preventive maintenance to maintain an effectively operating network providing full functionality for all users
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal relationship skills

Working EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment and/or a warehouse setting. Typical workdays are Monday through Friday, however occasional weekend and/or evening work may be necessary.
