RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce is working with a global eCommerce client located in NY/NJ and they are seeking a Senior Windows System Engineer. This position can sit from the Bronx or the Woodbridge, NJ location.
Summary:The Senior Windows System Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, engineering and administration of Windows computing systems hardware, software and storage infrastructure supporting a mission-critical environment. You will lead or support numerous exciting projects including support for a large-scale, multi-year program transforming IT infrastructure into a hybrid environment consisting of modern local servers and storage systems with physical servers and virtual server instances connected to storage area networks, cloud technology and hosted solutions. The comp package is competitive, and I have placed majority of their windows team.Responsibilities: Design, implement, and support Windows computing systems hardware and software infrastructure using the following service models: on-premise, co-location data center facility, Application Service Provider (ASP) and managed hosted Responsible for the maintenance of Windows services, applications, and platform into the overall company infrastructure Conduct software and hardware evaluation, provide technical analysis, and implement systems to meet the company's IT and business objectives Work with teams to determine capacity, performance and communication bandwidth requirements for applications targeted for migration to cloud services and enhanced data center services Lead and support initiatives migrating designated systems and applications to the cloud using SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models Provision and maintain server infrastructure services such as Active Directory (AD), DHCP, DNS, authentication, and network services Support implementation Identity & Access Management (IAM) cloud services (Microsoft Azure AD Premium is preferred)REQUIREMENTS: BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field - MS is a plus Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE): Server Infrastructure certification preferred Microsoft Azure Architect preferred VMware Certified Professional preferred Cisco Data Center (UCS) certification is plus HP Storage certification is a plus 12+ years of Windows systems administration experience, with a minimum of five (5) years working in a senior engineering role Additional years of senior systems administration experience may be substituted for degree requirement Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating System and related technology Experience in deploying and managing Microsoft Windows server environment 2012, 2019 Well versed in internet architecture components such as web, application, and database: IIS, MS SQL Server and ASP.Net Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure cloud services Experience with Alert Logic Log Manager services and Threat Manager services is a plus Strong understanding TCP/IP, SNMP. SMTP, SSL, SSH, DNS, DHCP, Kerberos, LDAP, and SAMBA Extensive experience in virtualization technology: VMware Experience in deployment and management of complex Active Directory (AD) environment Deep understanding of Active Directory Domain Services Experience in deploying and managing SAN technology and product including HP 3Par and IBM, Pure Storage Fundamental understanding of storage technologies as they relate to server IO requirements Working knowledge of NAS and lower end storage arrays Good understanding of Microsoft file systemKforce is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
