Electronics Technician III with Electrician License

This position requires travel in the continental United States for various projects. The candidate should be experienced performing the following tasksWhat You'll Get to Do:- Perform a variety of complex technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as systems set up, operations and maintenance, modification, testing, calibration and troubleshooting of electronic or electro-mechanical systems, experimental design, prototype models or specialized test equipment where quality is extremely important.
- Assist fellow technicians or engineers with assembling electronics or electro-mechanical subassemblies for prototype and operational models.
- Build and install power and data cabling; Ethernet, fiber optic and others. Terminate, troubleshoot, certify and solder cabling as necessary.
- Install network and communications equipment, troubleshoot systems to determine failure cause and provide a remedy for malfunctions and perform modifications to equipment as directed.
- Able to read and comprehend electrical schematics, service manuals and service bulletins to perform services needed to maintain fleet readiness.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, comfortable working in confined spaces and at heights.
- Maintain and adhere to operational procedures and work instructions, follow work orders, written and verbal work instructions and assist with preparation of reports and appropriate documentation to include following test procedures and recording results.
- Hands on experience in the installation, repair and maintenance of generators, motors, Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), control panels, HVAC, mechanical and electrical systems such as timers, circuit breakers, feeders, coils, and relays.
- Experience in training staff in system repairs, operations, procedures, troubleshooting, and use of electrical test equipment.
- Core understanding of determining root cause of malfunctions and correcting them.
- Experience in industrial, military and commercial electrical wiring, repair and maintenance as well as mechanical-system troubleshooting
- Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance before start of work.
- Responsibilities will include refurbishment of customer equipment that consists of the following activities: sanding, grinding, cleaning, painting, and use of various hand tools such as grinders, sanders, drills, etc.
- Could be tasked to travel CONUS up to 10% of the time.
- Possess proven problem solving skills and can manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
- Use of basic test equipment, pneumatic, powered and hand tools will be required.
- Requires basic job knowledge of network/communications systems and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education.
- Typically has 3 to 5 years of experience. Vocational or technical education in addition to related work experience is a plus.
- 5-7 years commercial/industrial electrical experience preferred.
- EE-98J Journeyman Electrical License.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; Outlook, Word, Excel.
- Physical abilities include the use of arms, hands and fingers to operate tools and various equipment. Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, bending, crawling, reaching and handling, pushing and pulling.
- Able to focus in items less than 20 inches away (corrected or uncorrected), see in three dimensions and distinguish all colors.
- Experience working with documents and materials in a classified work environment.
- Building Industry Consulting Services International (BICSI) certification; Installer 1 and 2 (copper and Fiber Optic Cable)
- CAT6/7 cable terminations, fiber optic fusion splicing, and soldering.
- The candidate be a qualifying party to sign off so others could get their Journeyman license.
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
