Let Metis put your skills to work for Air Force Research Laboratory Space Vehicles Directorate (AFRL/RV) in Albuquerque NM to help in the concept design, development, integration, test, launch integration, and operations and evaluation of new space technologies and engineering prototypes. We support a broad range of mission areas including Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance, Position Navigation and Timing, Space Situational Awareness, Space Control, and Weather across all classes (Class 1 “Rapid Sats” to Class 3 “Flagships”). Metis is recruiting for this position in anticipation of a new project being awarded later in 2022.

Responsible for development and checkout of electrical/electronic systems on CubeSat projects in the Small Satellite Program at Kirtland AFB, NM.
  • PCB level component trade-studies to evaluate and down-select parts
  • Schematic design of power subsystems and various interface cards
  • PCB layout and component land pattern creation
  • Altium part library creation and management
  • Cable harness drawing and assembly
  • PCB testing and troubleshooting
  • Minor PCB soldering and modification
The candidate must possess strong organizational and communication skills and be able to effectively manage multiple tasks and priorities to meet deadlines on projects.

Be prompt and responsive to customer request and produce quality results in a timely manner.

Demonstrated ability to resolve issues in an efficient, clear, and concise manner. Interface effectively with internal and external customers. Work as part of a team and also independently supporting the Engineering organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
  • Associates degree or greater in Electronics or Electrical Engineering

Required Skills and knowledge

:
  • Familiarity with circuit components and their functionality
  • Experience with schematic design and PCB layout
  • Familiarity with electronics lab equipment (desktop power supplies, oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
  • Experience with PCB testing and troubleshooting
  • Experience with power subsystems (e.g. solar panels, battery protection, chargers, regulators, etc.) desired
  • Experience with Altium desired

: Kirtland Air Force Base, Albuquerque, New Mexico

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI Eligible. Must meet applicable COVID safety requirements and protocols
