Position Title: General Manager - Aerospace

Reports to: CEO

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
  • Oversees all of the resources required to operate the business, including personnel, facilities, materials, machinery/equipment and associated activities.
  • Develops and plans effective marketing and business development activities.
  • Develops and maintains customer relationships and communication.
  • Monitor and drive profitability of the division.
  • Establishes company goals, vision and quality policy.
  • Appoints Management Representative for the BMS, ensure business meets aerospace quality standards.
  • Prepare budget annually, and forecasts as needed.
  • Directs and coordinates, through subordinates; all departmental activities.
  • Reviews and analyzes company metrics and assigns actions resulting from the analysis.
  • Assigns, delegates responsibility for specified work, functional activities and disseminates policy to managers.
  • Provides manager position direction, resolves problems, and may establish deadlines to ensure timely completion of assigned work.
  • Coordinates departmental activities with related activities of other departments to ensure efficient and economy of operation.
  • Determines strategic approach to measuring opportunity costs and business value of new programs.
  • Coordinates timely responses to request for quotations from the customer.

  • Evaluates procedures and practices for accomplishing company objectives.
  • Recommends/develops/ implements improved procedures and practices.
  • Initiates/authorizes hires, promotion and, transfers; recommends discharges.
  • Complies with and enforces rules as stated in SCI Employee Handbook.
  • Acts as ITAR empowered official as defined in CONI-1.1
  • Performs other duties, as required.

SKILL REQUIRED INCLUDING CONCURRENT TRAINING
  • Knowledge of manufactured product, including technology, methods/ procedures, and capabilities of machines/equipment.
  • Ability to plan/direct company activities and establish goals for effective control of operating costs.
  • Ability to understand, monitor, analyze and take appropriate actions regarding budgets issues.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the quotation and contracts processes.
  • Knowledge of the Human Resources processes.
  • Supervision of all subordinates and related activities under his/her jurisdiction.
  • Be able to access and be familiar with company Business Management System (BMS) and the Financial/Business System (Vantage).

RESPONSIBILITY FOR MATERIAL AND/OR EQUIPMENT
  • Responsible for safe operation of all equipment in all plant areas.
  • Responsible for proper handling and control of paperwork and traceability of all aerospace material processed in all areas.
  • Insure machine tools are used, maintained and checked properly.
  • Maintain work area neat and clean.

INDIRECT RELATIONSHIPS
  • Works closely with CFO to insure accurate cost data is collected and available for analysis.

EXPERIENCE
  • 5 or more years of manufacturing managerial experience is desired.
  • Aerospace Manufacturing experience in a highly regulated environment
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
