Sandia reserves the right to extend the posting date at any time.Salary Range:$86,300 - $166,800Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.What Your Job Will Be Like:We are seeking a collaborative Project Manager who is interested in more broadly impacting projects across Sandia. This individual will utilize the business acumen and subject matter expertise they have gained in supporting science and engineering projects applying business management principles to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of project management and product delivery across the laboratories.You will be part of the Project and Product Delivery System Group (10410), which provides support for and advocacy of the best engineering and business practices and solutions across the Sandia enterprise. As the Center (10400) whose mission it is to empower Sandia with an integrated, intuitive, and standards-based capability for exceptional project execution and product delivery it is paramount that we maintain strong subject matter expertise in business practices. This is core to Sandia’s Project and Product Delivery System (PPDS) in establishing sound practices to deliver our products effectively and efficiently.Within this position you will engage across the lab providing subject expertise in business practices throughout the entire product life cycle from Concept Exploration to Retirement/Disposal. You will work directly with our business partners in 10400, 10600, and 08100, as well as technical staff at the Systems and Component level of our Nuclear Deterrence and Strategic Partnership Programs.On any given day, you may be called on to:Improve upon and deliver solutions based on a proven project and product delivery system that enables Sandia’s projects/programs to achieve success.

Provide project leadership and project management support to the 10415 manager and for the 10415 deliverables, as well as providing that knowledge and expertise enterprise-wide, to include defining work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and/or managing change control and risk.

Partner with our business leads, project leads, and management to identify, recommend, and implement improvements to business management processes/tools.

Participate on Technical Basis of Estimate (TBOE) Independent Review teams, providing business management expertise in development of cost estimates.

Qualifications We Require:Bachelor’s degree in field of business plus ten or more years of direcly related experience, or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

Ten or more years, within the last fifteen years, of direct business management work for research and development, scientific and/or engineering project types

Current PMP certification or equivalent certification (such as Government Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification), or the ability to obtain PMP certification within 12 months

Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance

Qualifications We Desire:Working knowledge of business industry standards/guides and other related field’s standards/guides, such as quality management and systems engineering (e.g., PMBOK, ISO9001/AS9110, ISO 152288 (Systems Engineering) and INCOSE (Systems Engineering)

Experience working with Project Management tools, e.g., P6, Cobra, Empower, ARM, ARC, Oracle, CET, PMT, etc.

Experience collecting, translating, and implementing customer requirements into new or enhanced processes, tools, or capabilities

Experience engaging with stakeholders at multiple levels of management, as well as internal and external to Sandia

Advanced degree in field of business and/or project management

Experience building strong relationships and establishing credibility with technical project teams

Experience with or a working understanding of product life cycle management (PLM)

Experience in improving/creating processes, and developing and instantiating tools to optimize business management of science and engineering projects

Experience leading and influencing significant culture change across an organization

Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure and/or ambiguous environment

Demonstrated teaming skills, including the ability to work effectively with leadership at multiple levels, customers, other organizations, and technical leads

Demonstrated ability to craft roadmaps and execute against them

Demonstrated writing and presentation skills, including an ability to succinctly explain complex concepts

Demonstrated ability to think of innovative and creative solutions to challenging problems that challenge the status quo

Demonstrated ability to manage diverse security and classification requirements

A current and active DOE Q, DoD Top Secret, or equivalent security clearance

Ability to obtain and maintain US DOE SCI access, which may require a polygraph test
