WiFi Network Tech - 1137 OverviewKeyLogic is seeking a WiFi Network Tech to support an IT program for the Department of Energy at Sandia National Labs.This client’s organization hosts the SNL WiFI networks in New Mexico and California that allows users to access the internet without first establishing an SNL VPN connection. The department is striving to meet new standards and protocols (IPv6) throughout their infrastructure and updating their existing hardware and providing new capabilities. The selected candidate will be an integral part of designing, developing, and integrating new solutions and improving existing solutions.IT infrastructure service on modern telecommunications systems for data, telephone, wireless LAN, RF Microwave, and encryption capabilities to Sandia with emphasis on securing and protecting Sandia’s information standardization.Responsibilities
- Translate business needs into technical solutions and defines solutions to business problems through reasoned application of information technology.
- Design, develop and analyze overall architecture of internal systems, including hardware and software.
- Determine integrated hardware and software architecture solutions that meet performance, scalability, reliability, and security needs.
- Coordinate design and integration of total systems, including subsystems.
- Research and recommends technology to improve current systems.
- Develop or modify information systems, including analyzing business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary.
- Configure system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing; and creates specifications for systems to meet business requirements.
- Investigate effective business solutions and applies and monitors the use of required modeling and analysis tools, methods, and standards.
- Work with clients and staff to conduct high-level investigations for strategy studies, requirements specifications, and feasibility studies, and communicates requirements to staff.
- Create specifications and modeling of recommended solutions using resources, standards, methods, and tools.

- AA degree in relevant discipline plus (5) or more years of relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance.
- Strong understanding of WiFi (802.11x) with hands on experience deploying Aruba WiFi infrastructure.
- Experience configuring Aruba Switches and Controllers
- Experience with Aruba Airwave monitoring system (Design, monitoring, and troubleshooting)
- Experience in fiber infrastructure: Single mode fiber and multimode fiber
- Understanding WiFi RF characteristics (Dbm/SNR/Client Health)
- Automated system firmware (Switches/Access Points/Controllers) updates via Airwave
- Understand PoE+ power requirements for Access Points
- Knowledge of Aruba Capabilities and Features
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated experience in effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships both internal and external to the department.
