Early Yves is a vibrant coffee community located in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, New Mexico. We serve a full espresso menu and craft unique breakfast and lunch tartines. We offer rotating Early Yves specials that bring elevation and innovation - syrups made in-house, specialty-infused milks, thoughtful espresso pairings, and intentional garnishes for each of our drinks.

We are looking for a skilled and versatile Barista to join our team who is passionate about community, skilled at the art of specialty coffee, and is looking to work in a growing environment. Those looking to apply should have the ability to handle various responsibilities within the coffee shop including making drinks, operating the POS system, and preparing our curated food menu.

Employment Type: Part-Time (availability Monday - Wednesday preferred)

Job Title: Barista

Responsibilities:

Providing a kind and compassionate experience to every visitor of Early Yves

Full knowledge of both espresso and food offerings

Greet and ring up customers and process transactions on Square POS, handling cash transactions and maintaining an organized checkout area

Time management and prioritization when making drinks and preparing food

Opening and closing procedures

Ability to craft every drink item and educate customers about the coffee offerings we have

Exhibit expertise in latte art to create visually appealing coffee beverages

Prepare and serve every food item on the menu including tartines and light bites

Prepare in-house ingredients

Checking the quality of all drinks and food offers

Adhere to a clean workplace and customer environment, perform routine cleaning tasks, and restock supplies

Understanding of food safety and sanitation rules and responsibilities (FIFO, cooking time, refrigeration temperatures)

Encourage a positive and inclusive teamwork environment with open communication and mutual respect

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1+year as barista in specialty/third-wave coffee using manual espresso machine preferred

Proficient in latte art

Must be able to work weekends, some holidays and events

Must help to stay in compliance with the Department of Health

Experience in working in a high-volume, fast-paced food environment

Must be able to meet the position's physical demands - standing for extended periods of time, bending, pulling, pushing, carrying up to 30 pounds

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and maintain an organized workstation

Food Saftey Handlers Certification

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate in a team environment

A genuine passion for coffee, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude
