What to Expect?
The Production Manager will work as the head of the Production Team at the Tagawa Southwest Facility in Estancia, NM. This includes the oversight of 20 acres and 800,000 square feet of growing locations holding millions of plants for our bedding and young plant programs. The Production Manager manages Range Growers, Assistant Growers, and Irrigators within the facility to grow horticultural specialty products and crops such as plugs, bedding and ornamental plants.
The Production Manager must be versed in all Production practices, and interpret, modify, and improve Production Templates set by Tagawa Greenhouse Enterprises. Production Managers not only manage a staff of 3 to 20 people, they also manage greenhouse environments in terms of light, temperature, soil, water, fertilizer, and other chemicals to ensure the quality of our plant material. Additionally, the Production Manager is responsible for coordinating the maintenance of equipment, cleaning, and assisting other departments as needed. Experience in Spanish preferred but not required.

Basic Minimum Requirements
Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to work in the United States
Applicants must have a minimum 5 year company or equivalent industry experience. Bachelor's degree or higher education within a related field highly preferred, but not required. 2-3 years of experience within a supervisory or management position required.
Background check and MVR required. Employee must meet all requirements to be placed on the Tagawa Designed Driver list. Travel expenses and mileage are reimbursed per company policy.
Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Head Growers will also be asked to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to work in all Greenhouse conditions including wet, humid, dusty, dirty, and extreme hot/cold temperatures.
Must be able to lift or move up to 25lbs, and push/pull racks on wheels of 50lbs.
Job requires employees to be on their feet for long periods of time, sit, climb, balance, stoop, squat, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Must have specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, and color vision
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. To prevent injury, employees must abide by the safety procedures set by Tagawa Greenhouse Ent., LLC. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
