The New Mexico Community AIDS Partnership (NMCAP) and UNM Truman Health Services are recruiting a full-time intern to work with our team to support HIV prevention and direct services to People Living with HIV in the Albuquerque area.
The person selected will spend 32 hours/week on projects, including: HIV testing and counseling; HIV 101 presentations; community outreach; and a food pantry for People Living with HIV. The intern will participate in training and volunteer activities with NMCAP's intern team. The team will include five members, placed at various nonprofits in Albuquerque. At the beginning of the program, the team members will participate in HIV Testing and Harm Reduction trainings offered by the New Mexico Department of Health and an orientation training provided by NMCAP and community partners. The team will receive an additional day of education or training each month throughout the year and individuals will receive training focused on the work to be done at their host agencies.
The successful candidate will begin as soon as screeing in complete and the program will conclude on June 30, 2019. The person selected will receive a stipend of $1290/month plus New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax. This position is based at UNM Truman Health Services in Albuquerque.
