POSITION TITLE: Life Skills Coach
JOB STATUS: Full Time
PAY RATE: $32,000 - $37,000 DOE
Do you enjoy working with young people?
The Life Skills Coach strives to build positive and meaningful relationships with youth 12-18 in order to guide them towards meeting their goals and vision, helping young people build skills in their lives in order to enhance their successes as independent adults. You will work closely with Juvenile Justice Partners, schools and New Day's shelter to provide services and support for clients.
JOB DUTIES:
Collaborate with youth to create innovative life skills development plans that meet youth's individual underlying needs and vision
Complete all work modeling New Day values of Positive Youth Development, honoring and developing youth's strengths and autonomy in a culturally competent manner
Develop and support youth leadership opportunities
Keep consistent and detailed documentation on each young person per grant and programmatic expectations
Coordinate and provide transportation for Life Skills activities and classes, some evenings required
Act as a liaison for the Life Skills Academy in the community with other programs that serve young people; schools, social workers, mental health professionals, businesses, health care providers, and friends and family members of youth in the program.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must be 23 years of age or older
Bachelor's Degree and 2-3 years of experience working with youth
Associate's Degree and 4+ years of experience working with youth
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to pass comprehensive criminal, sexual offender, and MVD background checks.
Must have car, valid driver's license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums.

Physical Requirements: The position requires the ability to lift 40 pounds unassisted, 45 and above pounds with assistance.
