Chaparral Materials has seven yards: five in New Mexico, one in El Paso, Texas and one in Durango, Colorado. We offer weekly transfer trucks between locations and we subscribe to all of the major construction lead services. This helps us efficiently service our customers while also providing valuable resources to the contractor community.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Purchase and receive product from vendors using inventory management software
Oversee monthly inventory and closeout procedures
Maintain appropriate inventory levels and control measures
Ability to use company computer system to enter orders and analyze inventory
Keep accurate pricing records and familiarize with vendor program details
Develop and maintain an understanding of market conditions impacting the building materials industry
Work closely with the sales team and other branch purchasing specialists
REQUIREMENTS:
Some college or a Bachelor's degree is preferred
1-2 years experience in building materials industry or inventory control preferred
2-5 years of purchasing experience preferred
Ability to self-manage is critical, as well extensive experience in all aspects of supplier relationship management.
Must be a team player, analytical, good with attention to detail, and possess excellent organizational skills
Must be able to work autonomously without much direction
