ProtectedLogic Corporation is seeking Electronics Engineer specializing in digital design and experienced in implementing Xilinx, Intel or Microsemi FPGA designs and interface circuitry in VHDL to support complex circuit designs. Knowledge and ability to develop and test on deeply embedded systems using simulators as well as the ability to generate C, C and assembly-based test and application software is highly desirable.

The position requires working as a team member to develop system concepts and designs for FPGA/ASIC components as well as board level schematic entry designs and documentation. Other duties will include documenting prototype circuits, systems and concepts. Applicants must have a BS degree or higher in electrical engineering specializing in digital systems and computer design from an accredited university. Specific experiences should include: 1) Designing using schematic capture tools, 2) Two years of direct experience in creating new circuit designs from schematic to assembled board, 3) ability to apply analysis to modules and subsystems to verify designs, 4) ability to design, implement, and execute special test equipment for formal qualifications, 5) Excellent English verbal and communication skills.

Design experience with the following tools (or similar) is highly desired.

ORCAD/ALTIUM/ALDEC Schematic Capture and Layout tools

SPICE or derivative thereof

Office Tool Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and others)

VHDL development tools (Xilinx, Aldec, Microsemi and others)

FPGA synthesis and timing tools from various vendors.

FPGA development system operational experiences

Maple Analysis tool, MathCad or similar

MatLab or similar

Required Skills:

Basic understanding of electronics using discrete electronics.

Digital Logic design skills using schematics and the VHDL language.

Ability to generate custom IP integrate it and licensed IP into FPGA or ASIC platforms.

Understanding and operation of measurement equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Analyzers and signal generators.

Ability to read requirements and identify the meaning and design needs to satisfy said requirements as well as the skills to generate the desired design to addressing said requirements.

Ability to work with other personnel toward a common solution to engineering problems.

Ability to define, design, specify, program, test and field systems.

Will be required to perform other duties as assigned and outlined by the supervisor.

Ability to intermittently travel for customer integration activities within the US.

Perform additional duties/assignments as assigned.

Professional Interpersonal Skills:

The position requires working as a team member to develop system concepts and designs for products which are highly dependent on software and hardware interactions. The applicant must be able to communicate with other engineers to work through these complex architectures to arrive at an acceptable end solution.

Education:

Applicant must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited university in the field of Electrical, Computer Engineering with a field of study directed to computer design, digital design and analog design with related embedded programming understanding and education.

ProtectedLogic Corporation implements designs targeted for Space, Military and commercial applications to perform in applications associated with high speed measurement and control, navigation, ultrasound, image processing and timing certification. We usually are called on to generate the initial research and prototypes that are put into production for operation in harsh environments requiring operation in extended temperature, pressure, mechanical and radiation environments.

Our operations require specific security, safety and special handling restrictions. To qualify, an applicant must pass a drug test, a background investigation and meet eligibility requirements for access to protected information. The applicant must be willing and able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if so imposed. This position is contingent upon the applicant being lawfully able to access controlled technology information as specified by ITAR and EAR requirements.

The Applicant must be capable of performing duties that require them to sit, stand, walk, kneel and be able to lift objects from the floor to a height of 48" above the floor. The applicant must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds without assistance.
