Job Description

Reporting into our Chief Sales Officer, your role centres around driving innovation in Services (across both Commercial & Retail) and leading the development and implementation of TWG’s exciting future roadmap for Services. As the Chapter Area Lead, you are responsible for the “how” of Services across the Group, leading your team to deliver exceptional customer experiences and to further grow TWG’s business from a Services lens. The role also includes supporting, maintaining and growing new external partnerships.

Within the Chapter Area Lead position, you will have 2 Chapter Lead direct reports who are responsible for Services in both Trading & Operations and our Product Services Development. The wider Services team consists of 20 full-time chapter members, that support over 100 national service team members including our flagship services team in Tech Solutions. You will lead, develop and coach the team in pursuit of their craft and how they can be the best they can be to deliver fantastic customer outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development of the Groupwide Services strategy & services innovation
  • Working closely with the Executive team, Tribes, and Chapter Leads to implement new services and capabilities in the Tribes for delivery to all our customers
  • Understanding TWG’s future capabilities needed for the Services Chapter Area and Tribe future and being able to translate these into the roadmaps for a successful delivery
  • Setting the standards of delivery for what great Services looks like, and driving the team to constantly improve quality and performance against measured results
  • Inspiring the team, motivating them towards a common vision for what great Services looks like and helping them get there
  • Continuously building a team culture that thrives on collaboration, skills development, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement, Services is all about innovation and thinking past the obvious!

Qualifications

As a successful candidate, we foresee you having a toolkit of creative ideas and experience to draw on to grow and deliver exceptional customer and Group-wide value. You will bring proven experience and problem-solving skills into the team while maintaining a view of the ‘big picture’ and the strategic organisational goals.

You will also be someone who thinks strategically, demonstrates servant leadership with your innate ability to work collaboratively, and who creates an atmosphere of trust and productivity.This position will also require excellent influencing skills to manage relationships across the Agile structure.

You will bring the following qualities:

  • 10+ years’ experience & recognised reputation of a business expert in the field of Services, customer facing businesses or a highly dynamic and innovative sector.
  • Proven experience developing strategy and successfully implementing complex organisational change
  • Experience managing and developing teams in a matrixed or agile environment is a huge advantage
  • Demonstratable experience in building large cross-functional and high performing teams
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to enable you to foster the right agile mindset for The Warehouse Group
