The School of Cultures, Languages and Linguistics at the University of Auckland is currently looking for an early career academic to join our diverse and internationally renowned school as a Professional Teaching Fellow. If you are passionate about teaching, want to build lasting collaborations, and value diversity, we encourage you to apply.

The appointee will primarily be involved with coordinating and teaching courses in the undergraduate programme in Academic English Studies and English Writing. This requires research-informed teaching with no requirement to produce research outputs. Experience in teaching at tertiary level is essential, and experience with large classes and delivering courses online is required.

The position requires extensive knowledge of teaching Academic English, particularly academic writing, to both domestic and international students. Duties include the development of course curricula, course materials, and valid and reliable reading and writing assessments.

The role requires organisational skills to manage students and course administration. You must have experience in managing Graduate Teaching Assistants (GTAs), supporting planning of tutorial sessions, and overseeing and moderating marking of course assessments. Some teaching at our South Auckland campus may be required.

The role also includes a service component, such as School committee work, student advising, and external curriculum advising and assessment moderation.
