We are actively seeking an

Assistant

Supervisor Quality Control to lead a quality control team in our Deer Park, NY office. The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for designing, implementing, and monitoring Quality Control policies, procedures, and the Quality Management System as it relates to the ISO 9001 standard. The QC Supervisor will lead a team of quality control inspectors, with the main objective to monitor and audit product quality throughout the printing, finishing, insertion, and fulfillment processes. This role is in our Customer Communications Division, which offers a full range of multi-channel communications solutions, such as integrated print, mail and digital solutions for transactional, marketing and compliance communications.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Day Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am - 4:00 pm. Available to periodically work on the weekends or holidays during peak periods.
  • Supervise staff and day-to-day activities related to product and process quality inspections and audits with the result of minimizing downtime by reducing production rework and recalls.
  • Clearly understand and maintain the ISO 9001 criteria, standards and documentation throughout the print and production areas.
  • Monitor process methods related to quality results - Plan, implement, and follow through on best practice activities aimed at the continuous improvement of business practices.
  • Identify and implement process improvements and lead efforts to develop, write, and implement effective department specifications and procedures.
  • Facilitate the training and development of staff and conduct performance appraisals. They provide performance counseling and mentoring as well as make hiring and termination decisions.
  • Assist in managing the direction of Quality Assurance and provide input to budget, capital expenditure, and headcount decisions.
  • May perform other duties/responsibilities as needed or assigned.

Skills/Competencies:

  • Interaction with all levels of Management
  • Proficient in English; Spanish communication skills a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong PC skills. Microsoft Office (especially knowledge of Excel including data entry, pivot tables, and basic formulas).
  • Able to effectively multi-task and manage multiple priorities simultaneously and work effectively under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years leadership/supervisory experience in a Production/Quality Control environment
  • Flexibility in work schedule that is based on Production volumes which could require weekends and holidays
