About the Role

If you’re passionate about social media and you believe data should always inform strategy, we may have a great opportunity for you. We’re seeking a social media specialist to inform Verisk’s social media strategy and execute the company’s social media plans through a cadence of compelling content that fosters audience engagement, boosts brand awareness, showcases our expertise and highlights the company’s innovators and innovations. This individual should have previous experience managing a company’s daily social media interactions and a track record of success conceptualizing and executing social campaigns.

The Social Media Specialist frequently collaborates with earned media, content and marketing teams, as well as social media professionals within the company. In addition, the role has regular interactions with company leaders and works on high-profile projects and campaigns. This role also will enable best practices and insights to be communicated across the company. The position is based in New York (Jersey City, NJ) and reports to the Senior Manager of Social Media.

Responsibilities

  • Overall: Manage the company’s day-to-day social media activities (A – 100%)
  • Be the unified “voice” of Verisk for the company’s corporate social media presence on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, as well as other potential channels
  • Develop and curate interesting, approachable and unique social content that fosters audience engagement and supports sales, marketing, and corporate objectives
    • Respond to social media comments, messages, and inquiries in a relevant, timely, and on-brand manner; quickly elevate and diffuse negative interactions
    • Maintain the monthly editorial calendars for Verisk’s corporate channels, company executives; as well as culture and issues campaigns, while ensuring content aligns with broader company initiatives
    • Collaborate with colleagues across the organization in a manner consistent with the Verisk brand
      • Partner with the Earned Media, Events, go-to-market and Brand teams, as well as business units, to source, create and publish social content
      • Lead bi-monthly calls with social media contacts across the company to share best practices, exchange ideas, and cross-promote content
      • Collaborate with the Creative team to develop images, infographics, videos, and other compelling assets
    • Execute and manage paid social media campaigns tied to company imperatives
    • Apply a creative mindset to appropriately market a B2B organization across various social channels and several industries and economic sectors
    • Identify, establish and maintain positive working relationships with social media influencers and other key external stakeholders
    • Ensure social channels are current, innovative, and helpful resources for stakeholders seeking information about Verisk
    • Grow the company’s social media presence; track and report reach and engagement metrics for each channel
    • Use data to shape content ideas and posts, and to drive results
    • Maintain a deep understanding of Verisk’s industries, businesses, product lines and value propositions, along with its competitive landscape

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in journalism, social media, public relations, marketing or related field
  • Experience (2-5 years)
    • Well-versed in the latest social channels, trends, and best practices
    • Skilled writer able to communicate complex and sensitive topics quickly and succinctly
    • Proven success executing social media campaigns for publicly traded, layered, and/or global organizations
  • Data-driven mindset
    • Proficient in using monitoring and tracking tools to develop dashboards and reports that demonstrate key metrics and ROI
    • Embrace use of data to drive decision-making
