Currently seeking a Systems Engineer for satellite Operations and Maintenance (O&M) positions. The selected candidate will join a skilled O&M team working in a 24/7 operations environment. The O&M team is responsible for all aspects of Operations Planning and Command and Control, including monitoring day-to-day activities as well as identifying and solving challenging problems as they occur. After completion of comprehensive on-the-job training, the candidate will be part of a certified team of subject matter experts that are integral to our customer's success. Key responsibilities for the qualified candidate include : Build and/or implement a daily operations plan using complex software and hardware systems Obtain/maintain technical knowledge of a large repository of formal procedures with the responsibility to accurately select and apply the correct procedure(s) depending on the specific scenario at hand Obtain/apply technical knowledge on various hardware subsystems Document discrepancies as they occur. Implement workarounds and contingency plans to minimize impacts of system anomalies Contribute to the testing, readiness, training, and implementation of new ground software deliveries Cross-train in other operator positions as assigned and assist with training of other personnel on the contract team Work in an adaptable small team environment (3-7 people) Support test activities as necessary Other duties as assigned Security Clearance & Other Requirements: As a defense contractor, there are specific programs requiring a certain level of security clearance and special access for assigned staff. This role will require a TS/SCI Security Clearance with CI Poly on Day 1. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
The selected candidate(s) will be sponsored for a TS/SCI Security Clearance with CI Poly by Raytheon Technologies. The candidate’s onboarding is contingent upon obtaining the necessary clearance prior to starting employment.
Not being able to secure the clearance needed for this position may result in an offer of employment being rescinded.
Requirements:
This position is in support of an integral 24/7 Operations environment. As such availability for non-scheduled call-in is required and the job assignment requires working a combination of day staff and shift schedules, assigned based on the dynamic needs of the team
Availability for non-scheduled call-in is required
Availability to work overtime is required
Must have strong communication skills
Must be able to apply critical thinking toward problem solving in time-critical situations
Must work effectively in a team environment
Able to start position roughly 12-18 months from offer acceptance (start date contingent on when clearance is awarded)
Desired Requirements:
Experience working a rotating shift schedule
Experience providing/receiving training to/from a wide range of learning/teaching styles
Working in a virtual team environment
Proficient use of both Windows and UNIX platform
Experience with Perl, Python, VBA, and/or other scripting languages
Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite
Previous internship experience
A GPA of 3.0+ is highly desired (please include your GPA on your resume)
Required Education:
Bachelors of Science Degree by summer 2022.
Majors in Systems/Aerospace/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Math or a closely related STEM field will be considered for this role
