Job Description

We are ideally looking for a candidate with at least 12 years of post-graduation experience in the project management and/or cost management areas, he or she shall be able to perform the Governance and Cost Control PMO responsibilities for the design and construction department for one of our main client which the portfolio projects are related to Financial Retail, Corporate Offices and Facilities Management.

The candidate should preferably have experience in the retail, corporate offices and Facilities Management projects with knowledge in all phases of the project, from inception to completion, with particular attention to policies, procedure manuals, cost management, performance, client’s standards and requirements, and compliance documents according to Mexico construction norms and laws applicable. The Team PoC (Point of Contact) will lead a team that includes other two roles focused on Cost, Information, Governance and Performance. He or she will be responsible to coordinate with the Client and the global teams the prioritization of strategic support outside the business as usual activities.

The local team in Mexico will report to a Centre of Excellence based abroad in different strategic locations around the world.

The candidate must be self-motivated, enjoy dealing with the client day-to-day challenges and a great communicator. He or she must be also fluent in English and Spanish.

  • General coordination of team activities and communication
  • Manage the workload of the Team to maintain business as usual services
  • Coordinate with the client and Global Team the prioritization of strategic support outside of business as usual
  • Negotiate priorities to streamline deliverable and offer relative support to each functions size, scope and complexity
  • Have an understanding of the local requirements of the GCO in respect of the contracted scope of service, and how this aligns / diverges from the global model
  • Day-to-day interaction with client’s team such as: Design & Construction Heads, Compliance and Sourcing as required
  • Monitor the implementation and status of the Governance and Cost Control PMO global services
  • Understand client’s design and construction department and local priorities for projects and tracks work priority status within regional Governance and Cost Control PMO
  • Work with Center of Excellence to resolve regional Governance and Cost Control PMO workload challenges
  • Single point of contact for function and region leadership to enhance speed and consistency in communication
  • Provide leadership to the region Governance and Cost Control PMO team
  • Manage quality and timing of Governance and Cost Control PMO deliverables, maintaining service with scope
  • Responsible for all reporting and deliverables from the regional team
  • Escalate to the Global Governance and Cost Control PMO Lead any issues with service delivery to seek support and manage client from a global perspective
  • Escalate and organize regional priorities with Center of Excellence to provide balanced service
  • Maintain strong, open client relations
  • Identify Governance and Cost Control PMO service performance issues and proactively address
  • Coordinate regional information inputs for Center of Excellence coordinated executive level presentations
  • Provides regional input into periodic Governance and Cost Control PMO communications
  • The job holder is required to carry out all tasks within his/her level of skill and ability

Qualifications

  • Minimum 12 years professional experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture or any degree relevant to the position.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
  • Preferible PMP, RICS accredited
  • Ability to work under pressure to deliver deadlines
  • Good communication skills to systematically explain concepts, methodology
  • Strong client management, change management and teamwork skills
  • Strong Microsoft skills, specifically excel & PowerPoint
