Personal/Professional Assistant Needed

New Mexico, Santa fe / taos

Vacancy expired!

I am a 44-year-old professional artist with electric and chemical sensitivities and chronic health problems. I am looking to fill a personal/professional assistant position to begin immediately. Those who are highly organized, self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented with a streak of OCD are encouraged to apply. Assistants work in my home and in a separate office space/casita in the Arroyo Hondo neighborhood of Santa Fe, about 15-20 min from city center.

The schedule to be filled is 4-5 days a week (Monday or Tuesday – Friday), 12pm - 8pm. If the most qualified candidate would like to work fewer than four days, I may hire two applicants to cover the shifts. Please reply with your availability, indicating which/how many days you would like to work. Days are flexible, but time slot (noon - 8pm) is firm. On occasion, I may need you to stay late or substitute for a fellow assistant. Flexibility is appreciated.

Job includes but is not limited to:

Communicating on my behalf (handwritten dictation for emails and written correspondence)

Writing/editing projects

Phone calls, appointment scheduling

Errands (including grocery shopping)

Occasional household tasks (e.g., cooking, dishwashing, laundry, dog care, etc.)

Driving (vehicle provided)

Internet research on various topics

Networking and marketing

Creative collaboration

Occasional personal/custodial care, as my health and physical strength dictate

Providing additional oversight for weekend/evening assistants

Qualifications and Requirements:

Written correspondence is a major component of this position, and you MUST have an impeccable grasp of

grammar, spelling, and syntax. Please reflect this in your application materials.

Scent-free: no scented laundry detergents, hair products, personal products

Excellent tech and troubleshooting skills; fast, accurate typist; skilled in use of Mac, iPhone, Dropbox, Excel, Google, printer/scanner

Valid driver’s license and good driving record

Capable of moderate lifting

Prior experience in similar positions

Proactive, self-starter; be able to plan ahead, anticipate potential issues and needs

Highly organized, good memory, excellent tracking and note-taking skills, attention to detail

Excellent communicator, oral and written; ability to accept and integrate feedback

Flexibility and willingness to jump in wherever needed, to perform tasks ranging from administrative

support to dog cleanup

Optimistic, easygoing, grounded, reliable

Because this position requires that I occasionally be physically assisted in private/vulnerable situations, preference will be given to female applicants, per BFOQ

To Apply:

Please send RESUME AND POSITION-SPECIFIC COVER LETTER describing your interest and qualifications.

Applications will not be considered complete without both a cover letter and resume

In your cover letter, please:

include examples of strategies you use to stay organized

describe what COVID-19 precautions you and your household are taking

indicate your availability (which consecutive days from Monday to Friday you are available from 12pm – 8 pm)

Please note the following:

Eligible candidates will have a preliminary phone interview with a current assistant, then be invited to an in-

person interview and trial period

Professional references will be required for those who advance to the interview stage

Background check will be required

Minimum one-year commitment requested

All wages are paid through payroll

No benefits/holiday pay

During this time of heightened risk of exposure to COVID-19, you (and your household) must be willing to

practice social distancing and be vigilant about reducing your exposure, even when official health regulations

relax. I am immunocompromised and am dependent on your caution to avoid the spread of contagion.

Thank you!
