Established Canyon Road art gallery looking for a full to part-time assistant to the registrar.
Duties will involve:
-Photography of artwork. Basic photography knowledge and editing (we use a Nikon DSLR) will be applied. Adobe Photoshop use/knowledge is necessary to do this work. This is the most important aspect of the assistant duties. A large portion of every workday will be spent photographing and editing artwork.
-Graphic design abilities are sought. We use Adobe Illustrator for many applications to develop catalogues and imagery layouts for website use and published content/advertisements.
-Maintaining a strong gallery social media presence.
-Shipping/receiving of artwork.
-Errands/deliveries (driving our company truck must have NM drivers license & ability to be insured for our vehicle).
-Art hanging/lighting the gallery space.
-Painting & spackling/upkeep of walls in the gallery.
-Occasional Maintenance/cleaning, grounds/yard keeping.
-Supporting needs and requests from the sales staff in fulfilling their tasks.
Work hours will be from 10:00am to 5pm, Mon-Fri., with occasional extra hours sometimes required after 5pm to set up the gallery for any exhibitions.
Must have a current New Mexico drivers license and ability to be insured to drive our company pickup truck.
Must be able to help move large wood crates, as well as large heavy bronze sculptures. We are always moving very large pieces of sculpture, large paintings and shipping crates.
Multi-tasking on a constant basis is a part of each day, in our work environment.
We are paid in the first week of each month. Pay is commensurate with experience and ability ($16/hr or higher).
