Founded in 1893, Westminster Presbyterian Church provides purposeful, mission-oriented action and advocacy for peace and justice; shares a variety of worship, study, and spiritually nurturing experiences; and welcomes and reaches out to all cultures, age groups, and populations. We are a little church with a big heart, and we are seeking a part-time office manager to support the work of our church.
Description of Position
The Part-Time Office Manager of Westminster Presbyterian Church manages the office of the church in cooperation with and under the supervision of the pastor and the churchs Personnel Committee. The person in this position handles all duties assigned below and those occasional additional duties necessary to the running of the church, as assigned by the Pastor. The applicant will serve as a liaison between the pastor/s and the Session, the churchs ruling body.
To avoid conflicts of interest, we ask that applicants not be members of Westminster.
WPC is a non-smoking facility.
This is a part-time position: 20 hours per week at $16 per hour.
Minimum Qualifications
Secretarial and/or administrative office experience
Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and/or accounting practices
Ability to use basic software and computer programs (MS Office) and willingness to learn church account software
Experience in writing/editing in traditional and online platforms
Effective communication skills
Reliable, conscientious, self-starter
Good organization skill, including maintaining a neat and efficient workspace
High school graduate or equivalent
