Molten Salt Solutions is an exciting technology startup in Santa Fe New Mexico. We are developing the advanced materials required by the next generations of clean nuclear power.

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced electrochemist to join our team in Santa Fe, New Mexico. This can be a full time or part time position. You will be responsible for developing a research project in molten salt electrochemistry.

Responsibilities:

1. Work with us to design and build an electrochemical process for lithium metal production. You will have support from expert scientists, but you will have the leadership role.

2. Develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods on raw materials, intermediates, and finished products to assess quality, purity, and composition.

3. Analyze and interpret test results, prepare technical reports, and present findings to cross-functional teams, management, and clients.

4. Collaborate with research and development teams to support the development and characterization of new processes.

5. Acquire, design, and help fabricate the required laboratory equipment and troubleshoot any technical issues.

6. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, data analysis, and implementation of best practices.

7. Collaborate with company chemists and engineers to address technical challenges and ensure project timelines are met.

Requirements and Preferences:

1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemistry with direct relevant experience. This could easily be a position for a Ph.D.

2. Experience in hands-on laboratory work, preferably in research setting.

3. Experience working in inert-atmosphere containment (gloveboxes) is preferred.

4. Strong knowledge of electrochemical techniques and wet chemistry methods.

5. Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

6. Ability to work independently and in a team environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.

7. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present complex technical information to diverse audiences.

8. Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and willingness to learn and implement new techniques and methodologies.
