Come and discover the opportunity to join our Information Technology team as a Technical Specialist for Emerging Technology. Information Technology at BlueScope have embarked on an exciting enterprise technology transformation, supporting our business and customers now and for the future.

The role of the Emerging Technology Specialist is to guide the business in adopting new and emerging technologies to support our business into the future. You will partner with the business to understand operational needs and collaborate across the IT function to provide innovative solutions, services and processes that can be developed and implemented across the business.

This role can be based in Wollongong NSW or Mount Waverley VIC.

Being a knowledgeable specialist of emerging technology, you will:

• Identify new and existing technology offerings such as cloud/packaged applications or mobile solutions in the market
• Collaborate with cloud integration specialists to evaluate new technology offerings for integration
• Successfully manage relationships with multiple external service providers
• Develop prototypes or proof of concepts and help develop these into full-service offerings
• Create and maintain a catalogue of technology services offered by multiple vendors

With your technical advocacy background and knowledge of the emerging technologies market, you will have:

• Experience of new technology evaluation, product and vendor evaluation
• A solid understanding of market trends and new technologies
• Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
• The ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Ability to research new and emerging areas
