Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers.Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. 8 years relevant work experience. Focus for this team: evaluate business outcomes that customers can achieve by using Oracle CX Sales products; recommend innovations, product variants, positioning, improvements; generate and test hypotheses to answer business questions; develop best practices; establish proof points. This role allows for the opportunity to combine world-class data, data science, and storytelling.Oracle CX Sales products are made possible because of massive data sets, high engineering standards, and advanced data science. As a Data Scientist within the Data Science team, you will lead applied research projects and communicate findings to inform product development strategy. To be successful in this role you must: apply advanced statistical methods; create new methods, solutions, and insights, and demonstrate their value.About The RoleThis role will be one of the earliest hires in the Oracle CX Sales data science team.

Our team is mandated to build the next-generation insights into Oracle CX Sales - which means, pragmatically solving the existing and known problems as well as conducting efficient R&D to identify and solve the untapped problem space to innovate within the CX Sales solution portfolio. Therefore, pushing the boundaries of existing realities will bring exposure to cutting-edge and state-of-the-art techniques alongside.

This is a high growth potential role within the team and organization.

What You Will DoAs one of the first hires in the Oracle CX Sales data science team, you will help us to establish a healthy and intellectually curious culture around data science.

Your day to day responsibilities will be first to curate a couple of golden datasets, to generate and test hypotheses to answer business questions; develop best practices; conduct exploratory data analysis to study and understand the data and problem space; to build machine learning pipelines - including modeling, deployment, and monitoring.

You will participate in biweekly paper review sessions, contribute to the team's continuous learning culture and help to communicate low-level data science concepts to higher-level management.

You will practice building machine learning systems in Oracle's machine learning platforms - OCI data science and OML.

What You Will Bring7+ years of industry-level experience in data science and exposure to python libraries like NumPy, Pandas, sklearn, and others.

Deep understanding and intuition of computation/inference/reasoning/learning.

Get-Things-Done attitude and Growth mindset.

Rigorous experiment design skills and critical thinking.

Programming experience: Python and SQL.

Exposure to cloud platforms: AWS or OCI.

Exposure to RDBMS: Oracle, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.

Preferred QualificationsMS/PhD in Computer Science/Machine Learning/Data Science/Statistics or related field emphasizing superior skills in statistics and linear algebra.

Exposure to statistical inference/inductive reasoning/deductive reasoning/transductive learning.

Exposure to traditional graph ML/graph representational learning/knowledge graphs/RDF graphs.

Exposure to Hadoop ecosystem and Spark engine.

Superior communication, storytelling with data.
