DescriptionRegional Project Engineer - LumberWe are looking for a dedicated Regional Project Engineer to assist with the scheduling, planning, forecasting, resourcing, and managing technical activities to ensure project accuracy and quality. The Regional Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project.LOCATION: Candidate needs to be located (or open to relocate) within an hour away from the Albany (GA) Lumber facility. What You Will Do In Your RoleTo be a successful Regional Engineer, you should have the ability to work with multiple discipline projects and demonstrate excellent project management and supervision skills. You should also have excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.Working closely with lumber mill teams to identify and support opportunities to improve operationsDeveloping, preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring of assigned engineering projects.Formulating project parameters and assigning responsibilities execute project work.Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status.Cooperating and communicating with project participants/ and collaborating with senior engineers to create efficient and effective methods to meet project objectives.Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.Developing equipment specifications and working with vendors to meet project needs.Creating frameworks to measure the project metrics and data collection.Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.Ensuring the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications.The Experience You Will BringRequirements:Three (3) or more years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or military environmentAt least five (5) years project management experience (full life cycle from idea to implementation)Experience with managing projects / initiatives and working with plant operations to integratePrevious experience managing budget plans and equipment parts inventoryExperience coordinating projects, deliverables, and timingMicrosoft Office product experience: Word, Excel, and OutlookMust be able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment, including extended periods of time in noisy, dusty, non-air conditioned or unheated areasMust travel up to 50% (including some overnight travel)What Will Put You AheadBachelor's Degree or higher in EngineeringExperience within wood products facilitiesWorking knowledge and experience with AutoCADExperience with a CMMS (computerized maintenance management systems)Mentoring/coaching/developing facility leadershipOur goal is for each employee, and their families, to live fulfilling and healthy lives.
