We are currently seeking an Apartment Community Maintenance Technician in Schenectady. The Technician is responsible for maintaining a multi family property, and reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor. The goal of the position is provide a safe, clean and attractive property environment for the tenants and property owner that will contribute to maintaining the occupancy rate standard. Quality work, responsiveness, attention to detail and a genuine interest in serving the client are critical components to the position.
Experience:
Candidates MUST have 2+ years' experience in Multi Family Property Maintenance.
Apartment turnovers; repairs in apartments, comfortable and experienced with plumbing, painting, electrical, and cleaning
Qualified candidates should be experienced using hand tools as well as power tools
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while on the job
Ability to work independently with limited supervision
Key Activities:
Preparation of apartments prior to being rented
Inspection for maintenance needs
Patch, paint and clean
Repair of fixtures
Address work orders accordingly
Taking emergency calls is a must
Maintenance of property exterior may include:
Snow removal
Removal of debris from grounds
Landscaping
Keep walk-ways safe and clean
Completion of logs, work orders, and other required documents
Compliance with applicable safety regulations in the performance of duties
Maintain a positive customer service attitude
Requirements:
Must have a valid drivers license and registered vehicle
Must have your own handle tools
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language
Basic, entry-level preventive maintenance on all properties. Includes but is not limited to some basic plumbing, electrical and painting maintenance work. Cleaning and cosmetic responsibilities will be as needed.
