CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT - FULL TIME

We have an immediate opening for an experienced and motivated individual to serve as a Project Superintendent.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Thoroughly understand plans and specifications and project expectations

Ability to keep and maintain the project schedule while adhering to the plans and project specifications while operating in a safe manner.

Ability to oversee and operate a project site in a neat orderly, organized and extremely safe manner.

Ability to expedite the onsite work at the highest level of safety and quality possible while adhering to the cost estimates for the work.

Ability to work with and manage multiple people; responsible for supervision of all on site construction activity from ground up to closeout and oversee the workflow for all subcontractors

Ability to recognize areas of concern and possible conflict in advance and effectively communicate same to project manager and team members.

Ability to have the technical experience required to resolve production issues and verifying the execution of corrective actions.

Ability to have a thorough understanding and daily planning in advance skills prior to new work tasks beginning.

Communicate effectively with all team members as necessary

Coordinate all deliveries to meet project schedule

Daily documentation skills and maintain daily logs, site safety reports, weekly job meeting minutes, OSHA requirements, etc.

Ability to have problem solving and conflict resolution skills in a professional manner.

Assist Project Manager in preparing monthly cost to complete report

Ability to work with field workers, office personnel and subcontractors to create a safe work site and enforce all OSHA regulations. Ability to lead stand down safety and weekly safety meetings.

Ability to provide two week look ahead schedules and schedule crews, subcontractors to achieve critical path.

Ability to adapt and work out of sequence whenever necessary to maintain or possibly advance the schedule in areas not in the sequenced in the original schedule. Creative and out of the box thinking.

Ability to coordinate everyday tasks involved in the construction process.

Ability to obtain multiple pricing from vendors, assess pricing and availability for most cost effective and timely availability for material and equipment to be on site as needed through coordination with the project manager.

Ability to have good communication skills to work with clients, architects, engineers, local building inspectors, material and testing inspectors, project managers, subcontractors and vendors as needed to accomplish the task.

WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree in Construction Management, Architectural or Engineering is preferred.

OSHA 30 Hour is required

Knowledgeable and experienced at using Microsoft Office is required.

Knowledgeable and experienced at using Microsoft Project is required.

Knowledgeable and experienced at using Microsoft Excel is required.

3-5+ years of onsite experience in a construction management related role is required.

Understanding and ability to read and interpret construction documents.

Excellent time management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to operate in a polite and well-spoken manner that conveys and demonstrates a professional company image.

Thorough knowledge of construction means, methods, materials and scheduling
