Description SAIC currently has an opening on their analysis team for a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Engineer/Analyst to provide support to the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) in Amherst, NY. This is a fast paced working environment with simulation-driven assessments and products evaluating existing and conceptual missile defense systems performance and capability.
  • The candidate will support systems engineering activities including: element design, performance evaluation, concept exploration, concept of operations development, asset siting, adversarial threat system sensitivities, countermeasures, and test & evaluation.
  • Studies to help determine future investment paths for the MDA include assessment of sensor viewing, location of mobile and future missile defense assets, and successful interceptor engagement of threat missile systems (i.e., SRBM, MRBM, IRBM, ICBM, HGV).
  • The candidate will utilize and develop SAIC M&S tools to support these efforts and will be expected to perform one or more of the following: problem identification; study planning; data collection; data consolidation; model setup; model execution; data extraction; data analysis; study briefing generation and presentation.
Qualifications Required Skills/Experience:
  • Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; Masters and 0 years related experience or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as organization and interpersonal skills
  • Experience at self-starting, seeking solutions, and works well in a team environment
Desired Skills/Experience:
  • Programming background in Python, MATLAB, C, FORTRAN, Linux and/or Visual Basic for Applications
  • Experience in computer programming and best practices
  • Basic knowledge of physics, aerospace engineering and/or flight dynamics
  • Experience in writing technical briefings and papers
  • Experience in scripting for analysis purpose
