New York, Auckland 00000 Auckland USA

Vacancy expired!

Job Description

Auckland Bioengineering Institute

Te Whare Wānanga o Tāmaki Makaurau | The University of Auckland

24 month Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship (part-time considered)

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

A new prestigious Post-Doctoral Fellowship funded by Andrew Bagnall is available to support an outstanding emerging scientist to undertake joint research between the Auckland Bioengineering Institute (ABI) at the University of Auckland and a prestigious International Tertiary Institution (typically in the top 20 international rankings). The ABI’s central research themes are computational physiology, imaging and medical device development, tissue engineering, and regenerative medicine. The ABI supports basic scientists, engineers and clinicians who work together to undertake a spectrum of medical and biological research that links research in basic science with translational outcomes in clinical medicine, often via spinout companies.

These fellowships are for two years with the expectation that one year in total would be spent at ABI and one year in total at the overseas university, but other than this there is no limitation on how the time is divided between the two institutions. Travel will comply The University of Auckland’s international travel policies, NZ border restrictions (e.g., related to COVID) and those of any host institution.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Preference will be given to applicants who have completed a PhD (or equivalent) within the last 5 years. Selection will be based on the quality of the applicant’s career to date and the intended programme of research.

For more detailed information about this opportunity, including a detailed selection criteria, please review the Position Description and Fellowship Overview.
