We are currently looking for a Senior Developerto join our busy Digital Development team on a 12 month fixed term contract.

In this role you will be responsible for developing software solutions that solve real business problems and deliver value to the organisation.

As a Senior Developer you will be responsible forbuildingqualitysolutions whilementoring and guidingthe teamtohelpdevelop mature practices. Your experiencewillbe important indesigninganddeliveringsolutionswithappreciation ofboththeir technical and business contexts.

Accountabilities

  • Participate and support application development, implementation, and maintenance activities
  • Engage in all aspects of the software development lifecycle for ensuring that best possible solutions are achieved.
  • Actively attend and support Agile ways of work

You will be part of a cross-functional delivery team, tasked with delivering high performance solutions and be expected to actively participate and contribute to the team using IT best practices for our colleagues and customers.

We are the DigitalDevelopmentKaitiaki.Agroup to 30 developers with thedevelopmentstewardship of one of New Zealand’s largest IT estates.Our team members are integrated into Agile teams that are responsible for a specific value stream for the University.

You will join theBusiness Process Automation Team who are entrusted to drive efficiencies throughautomation at theUniversity of Auckland. We have automatedthefulfilmentofmany thousands of transactions,achieving reduced cycle times, andimproving customer and staff experiences.

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate will have a degree or qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or demonstrable self-taught capability. You will need to have demonstrated work experience in a development role with familiarity with most aspects of the software development lifecycle. You will have had experience with mentoring and guiding junior developers.

Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills

  • Development experience, in a selection of languages, platforms, technologies, and functional domains with specific focus on Java. Experience with low code platforms and scaled implementation
  • Technical troubleshooting skills
