New Oncology Unit, Registered Nurse opportunity! 1 Medical, Oncology Unit at Lourdes, part of Ascension in Binghamton, New York is hiring Registered Nurses. 1 Medical is our Oncology/Hospice/Medical-Surgical Unit. As a Registered Nurse on our team you work closely with our hospitalists, oncologists, radiation therapy team, palliative care team, and local hospice organizations to provide quality, holistic, care to all the patients we serve. Our unit follows a shared governance model utilizing a Unit Based Practice Council that meets monthly to discuss quality improvement initiatives for the department. What You Will DoProvide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.Implement and monitor patient care plans.
Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
What You Will NeedLicensure / Certification / Registration:BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the New York Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing required.
